WARSAW – The NorthWood girls tennis team doubled its fun to defeat host Warsaw Tuesday.
The Panthers used straight set wins at both doubles spots to edge the Tigers 3-2 in Northern Lakes Conference play.
Warsaw, which had won its last three matches, won at No. 2 and No. 3 singles.
Senior Sarah Boyle topped Megan Reed 6-4, 6-0 at No. 2 for the Tigers.
Senior Rachel Alexander defeated Hannah Walters 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 for Warsaw.
Sydney Wysong bested Jacqueline Sasso 6-0, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for the Panthers.
The NorthWood No. 1 doubles team of Kennedy Walters and Tori Schwartz stopped Camille Kerlin and Anna Hall 6-2, 6-1.
NorthWood won the No. 2 doubles match as the duo of Alaina Donegan and Madison Sheline topped Abbi Baum and Athena Schlitt 7-6 (7-4), 6-3.
NorthWood won the junior varsity competition 10-3.
Winners for the Warsaw JV were Mattie Doran and Shelby Roberts in singles play and the doubles team of Greer Smith and Rosie Fleming.
The Warsaw varsity team is now 4-6 overall and 1-4 in the NLC.
Warsaw plays at NLC foe Concord Wednesday and then hosts Culver Academies on Thursday.
