AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley softball team ended play in its own tournament Saturday in dramatic fashion.

Darian Dotson connected for a walk-off, game winning homer as the Vikings edged past Whitko 11-10.

Dotson’s two-run blast was the third time this season that the Vikings have won in their final at bat.

Kassidy Shepherd went 3-3 with two RBI and two runs scored for Valley in the victory.

Abby Betten had two hits and Katie Gunter three RBI for the hosts. Lauren Early and Tenaya Shull each had a double for the Vikings.

Northwestern topped Valley 19-0 in an earlier game Saturday.

Diana Baca had the lone hit for the Vikings.

Valley, now 7-6, will play at Whitko in a Three Rivers Conference game on Monday.
