Wawasee logoSYRACUSE – Wawasee and Northridge needed a roof to complete their Northern Lakes Conference girls tennis dual Tuesday night. Heading to the Warsaw Racquet Club to complete the final two singles courts, Northridge still posted a 5-0 victory over Wawasee in a match that began in Syracuse but was forced  inside due to rain.

Given both teams have heavy schedules with just two weeks to go in the regular season, both teams decided Tuesday would be the day to finish out the match. Northridge took care of the one and two doubles courts quickly as Courtney Clark and Emily Erekson won love and one over Aubrey Schmeltz and Jazlyn Gehlhausen on the one singles court and Alexis Graber and Mackenzie Martin cruised to a one and two win against Addison Ayres and Jaclyn Miller.

Chase Kiepen held off Natalie Fritz four and one on the three singles court before the action was called and moved to Warsaw.

At two singles, Kylie Frauhiger wrapped up a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jada Antonides while Emily Hughes needed to rally, but held on for a 6-0, 3-6, 6-3 win over Katie Ashpole on the one singles court.

Wawasee had one win on the JV grid, an 8-7 (7-5) doubles win from Madison Cooper and Paige Miller over Alysha Homewood and Mhew Kangwangarankul.

Wawasee (1-4, 0-3 NLC) will return to the court Thursday for a road match at Warsaw.
