Baker Youth Club Executive Director Tracy Furnivall has accepted the Cold Water Challenge, but with a slightly different twist.

While the rules of the suddenly popular Cold Water Challenge varies by everything from age groups to even communities, Furnivall has decided to challenge the community to raise $1,500 for the Baker Youth Club. The money would be used for programming, including transportation, food, snacks and staffing.

Those who accept the challenge, in general, must jump in the icy cold waters of a local lake or “pay up” to the challenger’s demand. In most cases, the person who refuses the challenge is asked to donate to a charity. In Furnivall’s case, he turned the tables to use the challenge to benefit the kids of Kosciusko County.

Furnivall has pledged to take the plunge in one of our local lakes 24 hours after the $1,500 goal has been met. To help him achieve the goal, donate to Baker Youth Club.
