BREMEN – A strong showing by its singles players paced Bremen past Triton 5-0 Monday.
The host Lions dropped a total of 14 games in winning the three singles matches in the Northern State Conference girls tennis contest.
Triton had its strongest showing at No. 1 doubles. The Trojan duo of Holly Stogsdill and Carrie Slabaugh lost a 7-5, 7-5 decision.
Kaelyn Mason lost 6-3, 6-2 at No. 1 singles for Triton. Shayla May was defeated 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 and Kylie Mason lost 6-3, 6-3 at No. 3.
The No. 2 doubles team of Cassie Irons and Michal Scherer-Berry dropped a 6-0, 6-0 final for the Trojans.
Triton drops to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in the NSC.
Bremen won the junior varsity competition by a 4-0 final.
Triton hosts North Judson Wednesday.
