WARSAW – What a difference a week makes.

The Warsaw softball team made it three straight wins Friday evening.

The host Tigers rolled past Plymouth 10-0 in six innings in Northern Lakes Conference action at the Tigers Athletic Complex.

Warsaw entered the week with an 0-4 mark to start the season. The Tigers responded with three NLC wins at home by beating Wawasee 3-1, Goshen 6-5 and then the Pilgrims.

Senior star Ashley Ousley also blasted a roundtripper for the Tigers.

Warsaw scored three runs in the first inning to take control. The Tigers added four more in the second frame and then scored single runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings. The hosts outhit the Pilgrims 11-2 and also played errorless ball, while Plymouth had six errors.

The trio of juniors Sidney Hernandez and Taylor Stiver and freshman Kalie Keener each added a double for the winners.

Kaleigh Speicher capped off a strong week in the circle with a complete game gem for the Tigers. The senior allowed just two hits, while striking out four and walking two.

Warsaw improves to 3-4 overall and 3-0 in the NLC. Plymouth drops to 0-5 on the season.

Coach Jim Speicher’s team will host Valparaiso today for a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. The Tigers then return to NLC action Monday at NorthWood and then at Northridge on Wednesday.
