Triton Ladies Eighth In Invite

images copyPLYMOUTH – The Triton girls tennis team finished in eighth place Saturday in the Plymouth Invitational.

Fairfield won the eight-team tournament with 28 points. Michigan City was second with 25 points, followed by Plymouth (20), Chesterton (20), Peru (19), Centreville (14), Columbia City (13) and Triton (6).

Kaelyn Mason led the way for the Trojans with a fifth-place performance at No. 1 singles. She posted a 2-1 mark at the top singles spot.

Shayla May went 1-2 on the day to place sixth at No. 2 singles for Triton. Sierra Sauer was 0-3 to finish eighth at No. 3 singles.

The Triton No. 1 doubles team of Holly Stogsdill and Carrie Slabaugh finished seventh with a 1-2 record. The duo of Cassie Irons and Michal Scherer-Berry was eighth at No. 2 doubles with a mark of 0-3.
