A long-standing cooperative tradition, this year’s annual meeting marks the 75th for Kosciusko REMC. On Saturday, April 26, the meeting will take place at Warsaw Community Church, 2300 Ranch Rd., Warsaw.

The business meeting will convene at 10 a.m. and includes the board election, executive reports, entertainment and prize drawings. In addition, children ages 4-12 will have their own program to attend featuring the “Amazing Animals Show” from the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, craft area, balloon animals and caricaturists. This year’s entertainment will be provided by the West Central Quarter, a jazz band from Fort Wayne.

Doors to the event will open at 8:30 a.m. and members can participate in a variety of activities. Scheduled activities include health screenings by Kosciusko Community Hospital Health & Wellness Center, KREMC service displays, kids activities, WIOE helicopter display, free doughnuts and coffee and rides in the Touchstone Energy Hot Air Balloon and KREMC bucket trucks (weather permitting).

Attending members will receive $8 credits on their electric bills, a 75th Anniversary commemorative coffee cup and will also have a chance to win one of many door prizes, including a 39” HDTV, two season passes to the Wagon Wheel, and iPad, helicopter ride, electric bill credits and more. Kids will also have special door prizes including a 7-in-1 game center, Skyzone gift card, movie passes and more.

“This year’s annual meeting should be a lot of fun, and we encourage every KREMC member to attend,” said KREMC CEO and President Bruce Goslee. “Every member has the right to help decide who will help lead KREMC into the future, and voting at the annual meeting is the way to exercise that right.”

Nine candidates will vie for three positions on the Kosciusko REMC Board of Directors during the electric co-op’s annual meeting. Incumbent Terry Bouse is opposed by Stan Miller and G. Paul “Butch” Troke. Incumbent Rick Parker is opposed by William Leininger and Bryan Sponseller. The third seat has no incumbent but Robert K. Huffman, Steve Miner and Kent Ring are seeking election. Information on each candidate is available on the co-op’s website www.kremc.com.

The week leading up to the KREMC Annual Meeting is Customer Appreciation Week, where members can enjoy some refreshments and enter to win a prize each day. An adult and child’s grand prize will be given at the end of the week for members entering the drawing each day.
