Valley Softball Squad Takes Two

logo2AKRON – The Tippecanoe Valley softball team picked up a pair of wins Saturday.

The host Vikings used some more late-inning magic to edge Glenn 9-8 in the opener and then completed the twin bill sweep with an 11-6 win in the finale.

Katie Gunter drove home the winning run for the Vikings in their final at-bat to win the first game. It was the second walk-off win of the week for Valley.

Gunter led her team with three hits and three RBI. Lauren Early had a pair of doubles and Danielle Adams and Darian Dotson each had two hits.

Kassidy Shepherd collected the pitching win in the victory.

Early had a big game at the plate in the nightcap. She had four hits, including two doubles, and drove in five runs.

Abby Betten had three hits and Dotson two doubles as Valley piled up 13 hits. Glenn also committed nine errors in the game.

Shepherd also notched the win in the circle.

Valley (3-3) plays at Culver Academies Tuesday.
