BOURBON – The Triton baseball team bounced back in a big way Thursday.
The Trojans posted an 11-0 win in five innings over visiting Oregon-Davis.
Triton had opened its season Wednesday with a 13-0 loss to South Bend Riley. The visiting Wildcats posted a perfect game in blanking the Trojans.
The duo of pitchers Jayden Hargrave and Gunner Golden combined on a two-hit shutout Thursday. Hargrave notched the win by going the first four inning, allowing just one hit with seven strikeouts and two walks. Golden worked the final frame on the hill, giving up just one hit with three strikeouts and two walks.
Triton plated three runs in the second inning, two more in the third and six in the fourth to complete the victory.
Cole Creighbaum and Landon Kaufman each had a double and two RBI to lead the offense for the Trojans. Hargrave had two hits for the winners.
Oregon-Davis committed eight errors in the contest.
Triton (1-1) plays at Tippecanoe Valley Monday at 5 p.m.
