WINONA LAKE – Three-sport star Kelsie Peterson of West Noble High School has signed with Grace College to play women’s basketball.

Peterson was an All-Northeast Corner Conference performer for West Noble in basketball, softball and volleyball. She picked up All-NECC honors all four years of her basketball career and was invited to the Hoosier Basketball Magazine’s Top 60 workout this year.

As a senior Peterson ranked 24th in the state in scoring (19.8 ppg) and third in steals (5.7 spg) to lead West Noble. She finished her career second on West Noble’s all-time scoring list and was invited to the Nancy Rehm/Border Wars Classic.

“Grace feels like a family, and that was what I was looking for in a college. The players and coaches seem to work together well, and I believe in the program that Coach Blum has put in place,” Peterson said. “The facilities are top-notch, and Grace is in one of the best conferences in the nation. They will not only help me grow as a player but spiritually as well.”

Peterson earned All-Conference and All-Area honors in each of her first three seasons on the softball diamond. On the volleyball team, Peterson was a three-time All-Area setter for West Noble.

“Kelsie [Peterson] is one of the top players in the state this year, and we are excited to have her join our program. Kelsie has the ability to score from all areas of the floor, and her ability to make others better is going to make us a dangerous team next season,” said Grace head coach Scott Blum. “Kelsie loves the game of basketball and will bring passion to our program. She has a great attitude on and off the court and displays a Christ-like attitude at all times.”

Peterson was equally impressive in the classroom, winning Academic All-State. She served on the student council and was a member of the National Honor Society. Peterson, who is the daughter of David and Terri Peterson, lives in Kimmell, Ind.

“Kelsie Peterson is an outstanding student, person and player,” said West Noble coach Dale Marano. “She is without a doubt one of the finest players to come out of West Noble, and she has the skills that transfer very well to the next level. She will be a great addition to the Grace program.”
