Kosciusko Cares, an organization that aims to serve as an advocate to youth, support to youth, and to promote healthy youth development, held its first annual 5K race that welcomed all ages. The event was organized by several community members and the organizers of Kosciusko Cares.
The race took place at Winona Lake the morning of April 5. There were nearly 100 participants which included families and individual runners. Racers ranged from beginner to advanced and everyone finished the race. There was family entertainment including clowns and balloon animals.
The race benefited Kosciusko Cares and will contribute to future community outreach. There were several volunteers and State Troopers who supported the event with their time.
Marsha Carey, the founder and president of Kosciusko Cares, stated, “We want to thank everyone who came out to run. Thanks so much to the Indiana State Troopers and Kosciusko Cares volunteers for making the event run smoothly.”
Kosciusko Cares will be planning more events in the future that will be listed on their website kosciuskocares.org and you can find them on Facebook. For information about how to get involved, contact [email protected].
