The Syracuse Cemetery is an interesting place. Pat Bitner, the president of the cemetery board, gives a tour to Karen Kelsheimer and Becky Brower. Bitner, on the right, shows the headstone of W.E. Long to Kelsheimer. Kelsheimer, director of the Syracuse-Wawasee Historical Musuem, and Brower, adult programs at the Syracuse Library, are preparing a self-guided brochure of symbols and the oldest history of the cemetery. The Syracuse Cemetery, founded in 1836, is run by a private organization that manages and maintains the cemetery.
