Indiana Conservation Officers reported this afternoon that the search for a missing person in Chain O’ Lakes State Park in nearby Noble County has ended with the discovery of a body.

Conservation Officers received information from a concerned citizen that Douglas W. Haigwood, 43, of Kimmel, went ice fishing Sunday at approximately 10 p.m. on Mud Lake, located in Chain O’ Lakes State Park, and had not returned. Officers located Haigwood’s fishing gear on the ice, but were not able to locate him.

Conservation officer divers searched the area attempting today and were able to recover Haigwood’s body.

Conservation officers were assisted by the Albion Police Department, Orange Township Volunteer Fire Department, Indiana State Police and Chain O’ Lakes State Park employees.
