Log cabin near Clunette

This log cabin was typical of the dwellings built by the county’s early settlers. Russ and Cassy Beck occupied this cabin, located about a mile or two southwest of Clunette.

Kosciusko County Historical Society is not sure of the date of the photo, but it is believed the Becks would have acquired their land in about 1850 leading them to believe the cabin was built at that time.

If you have a more precise date of when the photo was taken, know more details or have similar photos you would like to share with the historical society, please contact the historical society during normal business hours at the Old Jail Museum 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at 574-269-1078.
