The Wawasee duo of JJ Gilmer and Clayton Cook, along with Warsaw’s Seth Fouts, all had impressive performances to cap the indoor season at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Gilmer cleared 6-4 to earn a fourth-place finish in the high jump. Gilmer was a regional champion and placed fourth at the State Finals in 2013.

Cook clocked in at 8.45 in the 60-meter high hurdles to notch a seventh-place finish for coach Scott Lancaster’s team.

Fouts, a senior, led the Tigers with a fourth place finish in the shot put with a throw of 56’1.25.  Fouts was a regional champion and placed sixth in the shot at the State Finals a year ago.

Coach Matt Thacker’s Tigers, who were fifth at the State Finals as a team in 2013, had a pair of relay teams just missing earning All-State honors.

The foursome of Mike Miller, Tristan McClone, Gabe Furnivall and Tanner Balazs placed ninth in the 4 X 200 in a time of 1:33. The 4 X 400 team of Funivall, Ryan Goon, Chad Goon and Landon Perry also placed ninth in a time of 3:32.86.

Both Wawasee and Warsaw are scheduled to open their outdoor seasons this Thursday. The Warriors host West Noble and Warsaw travels to Fort Wayne Snider.
