AKRON – Tippecanoe Valley High School recently saluted award winners for its winter sports and cheerleading.

Honored from the girls basketball program were Anne Secrest (Field Goal %, Rebounds), Meredith Brouyette (Free Throw %, 3-point %, Most Improved), Caylie Teel (Steals, Assists), Taylor Trippiedi (Mental Attitude), Cara Hoffman (Captain, Booster Club) and Kelsey Ball (Captain).

Saluted from the boys basketball squad were Logan Britton (Field Goal %), Ben Shriver (Free throw %, Mental Attitude, Captain), Tanner Andrews (MVP, Rebounds, Assists, Captain), Chainey Zolman (3-point %), Robby Groom (Assists, Captain) and Derrick Cunningham (Booster Club).

Athletes recognized from the boys swim team were Noah Clampitt (Most Improved, Captain), John Paul Secrest (Mental Attitude), Tommy Alexander (MVP, Captain), Brandon Maull (Work Ethic), Tanner Neeley (Work Ethic, Captain) and Tyler McDonald (Booster Club).

Members of the girls swim team honored were Caitlynn Bailey (Most Improved), Alaina O’Connell (Mental Attitude, Captain), Blake McBrier (Rookie of Year), Katie Gunter (MVP, Captain), Sarah Jones (Work Ethic), Joy Hurd (Captain) and Anna Higgins (Booster Club).

Honored members of the wrestling team were Gary Long (Mental Attitude), Josh Back (Most Improved), Devin Childers (MVP), Cody Runyon (Mr. Takedown), Arron Heller (Captain), Keaton Bell (Captain, Booster Club) and Jaron Kidd (Captain).

Cheerleaders receiving awards were Kristin LaCrois (Mental Attitude, Captain), Breanna Krueger (Mental Attitude JV), Kirsten Schipper (MVP, Captain, Booster Club), Kathy Eagleson (Outstanding Base, Captain), Salleigh Torpy (Outstanding Flyer), Kaira Hackworth (Outstanding Backspot), Shayla Hoffman (Most Spirited) and Desiree Sanchez (Best Smile, Captain).
