Mrs. Turner’s Kindergarten class at Warsaw Christian School studied Alaska and Hawaii as part of their America the Beautiful unit.  During this unit, the students learned patriotic songs each week.

Mr. Buller, administrator and native of Alaska, told the class  about some special features of Alaska including climate, animals that live there, and the Iditarod race.

The Barros family, with kindergarten son, Jackson, gave the class information on Hawaii. Mr. Jake Barros was born and raised in Hawaii. He taught the students about Hawaiian traditions, including playing the ukulele, surfing, different animals, information about volcanoes, leis and fruits grown in Hawaii. The students all made leis to celebrate Hawaii.
