Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice Inc. recently partnered with the Department of Veterans Affairs and National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization to offer a new program focused on recognizing the unique needs of America’s veterans and their families.

The Department of Veteran Affairs website reports that one out of four dying Americans is a veteran and a vast majority of them are not enrolled in the VA healthcare system as well as not being aware of the support and services that are available.

This pioneering program focuses on respectful inquiry, compassionate listening and grateful acknowledgment. By recognizing their unique needs, KHCH learned how to accompany and guide the local veterans and their families through their life stories toward a more peaceful ending.

Local veterans shared their support for this program by offering to meet with veterans that are receiving hospice services.

Bob Jarboe is available to educate others about this valuable veterans program. For more information, contact Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice at 574-372-3401 or koshomecare.org.
