Clunette said farewell to a big piece of its history on Saturday, Feb. 22, when the demolition of the Clunette Elevator took place.

Founded by brothers Wallace, Dallas and John H. Anglin in 1951, the elevator began as a small operation buying and storing grain. Today, the business is one of the largest agricultural retailers in northern Indiana.

But with progress comes loss. The old elevator was razed by Everest Excavating of Warsaw as the business has grown to add services including crop consulting, customer fertilizer and chemical applicator realtor and a Pioneer seed dealer. The mill will be replaced with more grain storage.

According to Beth Anglin-Cooper, the family is looking for old pictures of the elevator, grain trucks, tractors, etc. that will be put together and made into a video/photo montage that, when complete, will be available to everyone.

Anyone with old photos of the Clunette Elevator are asked to take them photos to the elevator office.
