The Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory / Warsaw Fire Department is conducting testing on the tornado siren located at Station 1, 109 E. Main St., in downtown Warsaw.

Today’s testing is to assure both the horn portion of the unit works correctly and the rotation of the siren. Since the siren was relocated from the former city hall building on Market Street, some minor problems were realized.

The test could run for the full 3 minutes. It is the department’s goal to make sure that all warning devices are working properly to ensure adequate warning to the community.
