Shooting Report Ends With Emergency Detention

At about 9:49 p.m. Friday, Warsaw Police responded to the area of Central Park after a male subject called 911 to report that his sister had been shot.
Central Park quickly became the center of the search area where police, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies, Multi-Township EMS and a rescue unit from the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory established command. A thorough search of the park and surrounding areas, however, failed to turn up any evidence of a shooting.
As police continued their investigation into the night, they discovered the 911 call had been made by Charles P. Chesnut, 18, of Elwood. Police are not saying why Chesnut believed his sister had been shot, but he was taken to The Bowen Center for an emergency detention.
