Three Rivers Conference May Expand
The makeup of the Three Rivers Conference may be sporting a different look.
The TRC has invited both Peru High School and Maconaquah High School to join the league beginning with the 2015-16 school year.
The invitation was offered to the two schools after a meeting of the TRC principals and athletic directors last week. The eight current member schools voted 7-1 to extend the offers to Peru and Maconaquah.
Peru and Maconaquah are both currently members of the Mid-Indiana Conference. Both are Class 3-A athletic programs. Peru had inquired about joining the TRC last year, but the league did not want to expand to nine teams.
The current membership of the TRC includes Tippecanoe Valley, Whitko, Wabash, Rochester, Northfield, Southwood, North Miami and Manchester.
The invitation to the two schools comes with the premise that both have to accept for the TRC to expand to 10 teams.
The deadline for the schools to join the TRC is April 1.
