Syracuse Public Library Announcements

Parents as Teachers has shifted from providing individual instruction to presenting in group settings. Gisela Vore, Children’s Librarian, feels that offering the Parents as Teachers program at the library is good because of the educational aspect and as an aid in a child’s development. All of the ideas use household items that are available for free or a small cost. A book, and information and ideas are provided with a story time and playtime. The next meeting date is Feb. 6.

Baking Recipes Wanted
January is the month when adults are offered a chance to win baking scented candles during the Like a Hug reading program. The Syracuse Public Library is also collecting favorite baking recipes to share at the conclusion of the program.
Anyone with a tried-and-true, unique or a just too-good-to-not share recipe is invited to drop it in the ballot box. Registration is requested for those who want a copy of the recipes. The recipes will be collected until the first week of February.
