Alice Jeanette Bennett, 89, passed away at 3:50 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, 2014 at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center of Warsaw, Ind.
She was born on Nov. 5, 1924, in Kosciusko County, Ind., to Charles Rose and Hazel (James) Rose. On Nov. 23, 1944, in Warsaw, she was married to Leroy Eugene Bennett, who preceded her in death.
She was a lifetime resident of Kosciusko County, and a 1942 graduate of Etna Green High School, Etna Green, Ind. Alice attended Otterbein United Methodist Church in Atwood, Ind., and was a past member of the Bourbon Chapter of the Eastern Star. Following her husband’s retirement in 1980, she and Leroy traveled throughout the United States and Canada. They wintered in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas with their Airstream Trailer.
She is survived by three sons: Terry Bennett, Warsaw; Robert (Pamela) Bennett, Augusta, Ga.; Kim Bennett, Nappanee, Ind.; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and her sister: Donna Rose, Etna Green, Ind.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one brother; and one sister.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, at the funeral home and will be officiated by Pastor Dennis L. Bollenbacher. Burial will follow at Etna Green Cemetery of Etna Green, Ind.
