As snow fell persistently over the weekend, and temperatures remain below freezing, slide-offs were a real problem.

Four slide-offs were reported on SR 15 north of Leesburg early Sunday morning, and a slide off in Silver Lake on Saturday sent four people to the hospital. (See related story)

Several other slide offs occurred over the weekend, many of them we reported in Area Accident Reports this morning. Snowfall persisted for most of the weekend, and temperatures remained below freezing making travel difficult.

Today the U.S. National Weather Service Northern Indiana reported that 2-3 inches of snowfall tonight and another inch on Tuesday is a possibility in this area. If this occurs, driving conditions could become hazardous yet again.

The NWS urges drivers to plan ahead and allow extra time for travel as roads could become slick.
