Gerald L. ‘Jerry’ Crowl Jr., 63, of Syracuse, Ind., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 4, 1950, to Gerald Sr. and Ruth (Behnke) Crowl. On Feb. 4, 1993, he married Colleen Mishler; she survives.

Born and raised in the area, Jerry was a local farmer and owner of Crowl’s Landing. He liked John Deere tractors and enjoyed collecting and restoring antique tractors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being around and taking care of people. Jerry loved his dogs Nick and Bo. He was a loving son, husband and loyal friend and will be missed by all who knew him.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 20 years; one son: Michael Crowl, Texas; and his mother: Ruth Crowl, Syracuse; three sisters: Carolyn Haggard, North Webster, Ind.; Nancy Warrick, Elkhart, Ind.; and Sandra Bromley of Alpine, Utah.

He was preceded in death by his father: Gerald Sr.

Visitation will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16, at Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. A Memorial Service will be held at 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to Wawasee FFA in care of Mishler Funeral Home.
