At 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 12, 13 children from Warsaw will have the opportunity to pick out gifts for themselves and family members with the help of the Warsaw Police Department.

The annual “Shop with a Hero” event is hosted by Meijer at many of its locations, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars in gift cards so that children can celebrate the holidays – and build a bond with area police, fire and local “heroes.” In Warsaw, the program is pairing underprivileged children with Warsaw Police Department personnel to shop for holiday gifts for themselves and their families.
