BZA Approved Signs For WMS
Among the agenda items considered by the hearing officer for the Kosciusko County Board of Zoning Appeals Monday in Warsaw was a petition by the Wawasee Community School Corp. The school corporation wants to update signs at Wawasee Middle School on SR 13 at the intersection with CR 1000 North, south of Syracuse.
One sign on the west side of the building above the main entrance will have the letters “Wawasee Middle School,” while the other sign will replace an existing sign along SR 13. The new sign will be an LED version. Both signs were approved by the hearing officer. Approval was required because the total square footage of signage exceeds the 32 square-feet normally allowed by ordinance.
Petitions considered by the BZA Tuesday included:
- Approval was given to Mark and Shelia Tenner for construction of a pole barn 10 feet away from an access easement on CR 300 North, east of CR 150 East in Plain Township.
- James and Julie Maxwell were given approval to allow a duplex to remain on a tract of land less than 30,000 square-feet on Kalorama Road in Tippecanoe Township.
- Aaron Bakian was granted a variance to allow a mobile home to remain as placed, but must remove a shed out of the right of way and pay a permit fee. The property is on Old Road 30, east of Walnut Street in Etna Green.
- Cary Groninger was granted an exception to build an oversized accessory building for storage of maintenance equipment on Leigh Drive, west of Fox Farm Road in Wayne Township.
- Michelle and Matthew Kerlin were granted a variance to build a residence addition on EMS W31 Lane, west of CR 825 East in Tippecanoe Township.
- Tammi Mazura was granted an exception for a home-based business, in this case consignment sales/auctions, in an existing barn on CR 800 South, east of CR 700 East in Monroe Township.
