lca smallWINONA LAKE – Hannah Remington had a huge game for her Lakeland Christian girls basketball team Monday night.

Visiting Bethany Christian, however, still posted a 40-31 win over the Cougars.

Remington had 11 points and 13 rebounds to lead the way for LCA.

Bethany Christian led 12-9 after the opening period and 24-14 at halftime en route to the win. The Bruins improve to 3-2 on the season.

Julianne Haines netted seven points and Morgan Holsclaw, Rachel Sand and Hannah Delp each scored four points for LCA. The Cougars drop to 2-3 with their third straight loss.

Jordan Helmuth scored a game-high 14 points to lead Bethany to the win. Marie Bontrager and Hanna Hochstetler each had 10 points.

LCA hosts Jimtown Dec. 6. Bethany plays at Triton Dec. 2.
