The Salvation Army is once again serving as the clearing house for individuals, groups, churches and businesses that are helping families during Christmas 2013. The goal of the clearing house is to stretch resources as far as possible and avoid duplication.

Those providing assistance to others may send their family names to Community
Ministries Director Ken Locke at [email protected] or call him at 574-267-5361, Ext. 102.

Also, The Salvation Army continues to take applications for the Angel Tree program and is planning on closing their list on Nov. 27. The Angel Tree is a unique program that started in Lynchburg, Va., in 1979. It involves the community in a direct way allowing them to become personally involved by sharing with those less fortunate in their community. The program provides gifts of new clothing and toys to children who otherwise might not have anything for Christmas.
