The search for a missing Pierceton man had a sad ending late Thursday afternoon.

Authorities have confirmed that the body of Zachary Jay Cox, 19, was found in the Sidney area. Evidence suggests Cox took his own life.

Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Deputies were notified Tuesday night by family members that Cox had left his residence on foot that evening and had not returned. He was last contacted by text message at 7:42 p.m. by his mother and attempts to contact him again were unsuccessful. He had also notified his place of employment that he was no longer returning to work.

No additional information is being released.
