Unknown-2NAPPANEE – The NorthWood High School football program will have a new coach next season.

Scott Hoover resigned Saturday after five seasons as the head coach of the Panthers.

NorthWood went 4-6 this season and lost 55-21 at East Noble Friday night in a Class 4-A sectional opener. The Panthers were 2-5 in the Northern Lakes Conference this fall.

Hoover was 30-27 in five seasons in charge of the Panthers after replacing Rich Dodson in 2009. He served as the defensive coordinator for NorthWood in 2005 when the Panthers won the Class 3-A state championship.

Hoover said that he plans to remain at NorthWood as a teacher.
