“After School is Cool” Tuesdays

Our next “After School is Cool” Tuesday will be at 3:30 p.m. Oct. 29, with Miss Maureen. She has a fun Halloween craft planned and a spooktacular snack for every student attending. No sign-up is necessary. Kids kindergarten through fifth grade are welcome to join the fun. Please remember, this program is for a specific age group. Younger children would be better suited to our preschool story time program.

Lap-sit

The last Fall Lap-sit will be at 10:30 a.m. Oct. 29, with Miss Heidi. This session’s theme is Monkeys! The monkeys jump on the bed, tease Mr. Crocodile and won’t go to sleep! This class is for newborn to 36 months.

Fall Preschool Story Time

Join us at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, when Miss Julie presents, “Weird Science.” Come discover the secret formula for making monstrous, huge, unbelievably big bubbles! Listen to Miss Julie read Bubble Trouble, by Margaret Mahy and Little Blue and Little Yellow, by Leo Lionni.  We plan to make bubble art and share Jell-o jigglers for snack. ] There is also an evening Story Time at 7 p.m. on Thursdays. Story Time is for children ages 3 to 6-years old. You can still register your child by calling 658-4312 and asking for the children’s department. Don’t miss any more of the fun— register your child today!

Library Closing Early

The library will be closing at 3:30 pm on October 31 in preparation for our Lights Out program from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Lights Out at the Library

Our 9th annual Lights Out at the Library will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Oct. 31. This year’s theme is “The Great Nursery Rhyme Disaster.” Follow Little Miss Muffet as she searches for a less spidery nursery rhyme to be a part of.  You might see some of your favorite nursery rhymes such as, Jack Be Nimble, Humpty Dumpty and the Queen of Hearts. Please line up at the Main Street doors to wait your turn to go through the library. Every child who completes the tour of Nursery Rhyme Land will receive a candy bar as their treat. Bring the whole family! If you would like to donate candy bars for the children, please bring them to the adult circulation desk any time before the 31st.

Afternoon Knitting

Need help following a knitting pattern? The afternoon knitting club will meet on Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the adult department. Bring your project and enjoy some company.

Remember to call Dial-a-Story to hear a new story each week at 574-658-9540.
