NW Approves Construction Bid
North Webster Town Council awarded the contract for a new pole building to local contractor Hartley Construction at the Tuesday monthly council meeting. The company was the low bidder of three for the 36-foot by 66-foot facility.
The building will be 15 feet high and constructed on a concrete slab at the town’s maintenance area off Crystal Flash Road. It will be used primarily for storage of equipment to protect the town’s investment in the equipment from the elements. The building will be insulated. The amount of the bid was $54,575.
Town utilities manager Mike Noe reported that leaf pick-up has been delayed while waiting on a part, but it should begin next week. Council president Jon Sroufe noted, “There is no more pressure for the town than getting leaves picked up.”
Police Chief Greg Church reiterated that the town’s trick-or-treat hours will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31. The hours were originally announced at the September council meeting. Extra patrols will be on duty for trick-or-treat.
North Webster Town Council members are Sroufe, Lisa Strombeck and Tim Hine. Betsy Luce is the clerk-treasurer. The next regular meeting will be 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 in the party room at the North Webster Community Center, 301 N. Main St.
