An accident on SR 15 in Leesburg Saturday seriously injured at least one person, who was airlifted from the scene.

Leesburg/Plain Township Fire Department, Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department deputies and Lutheran Air responded to the crash that happened at 3:09 p.m. Saturday.

According to the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department report, Debbie Jones, 45, of Warsaw, was stopped on CR 600 North at SR 15, but failed to see a southbound vehicle, driven by Paul Adams, 37, of Winona Lake, and pulled into its path. Adams reportedly suffered internal chest injuries, including collapsed lungs, and was airlifted by Lutheran Air from the scene.

Jones complained of neck pain and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. A passenger in the Jones vehicle, Jo Pike, 63, of Pierceton, complained of body pain and was also taken for treatment. Rachael Harter, 35, a passenger in Adams’ vehicle, suffered a possible broken leg.

Damages were estimated at up to $25,000.
