The Lakeside Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1342 in Syracuse is holding its annual Cancer Benefit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13. The public is invited to attend.

A buffet, featuring ham, broasted chicken and side dishes, will be served from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. that day, followed by entertainment provided by the band Sierra Shame from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The cost to attend is $10 for the meal and entertainment, $7 for the meal only and $5 for those who want to come for just the entertainment. All proceeds go toward cancer aid and research.

Lakeside VFW Post 1342 is located at 307 W. Chicago St. and is a family-friendly smoke-free facility.
