Multiple Drug Warrants Served In Warsaw

Warsaw Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle at Lucerne Park in Warsaw Thursday afternoon which resulted in a substantial drug find.

At 5:25 p.m., officers followed the suspect vehicle and initiated a traffic stop along North Detroit Street (SR 15) near U.S. 30. The driver of the vehicle, Angelique Holmes, 25, of Mentone, was found be operating with a suspended license. As officers began to inventory the vehicle for impound, they located a white cooler containing marijuana, drug paraphernalia and multiple baggies of finished methamphetamine.

A passenger in the vehicle, Coty Prater, 26, of Winona Lake, was arrested and charged with dealing methamphetamine, dealing marijuana and possession of paraphernalia. The dealing charges were enhanced to a Class B felony for being at a city park.

Prater was being held at the Kosciusko County Jail on a $2,000 surety bond. Holmes was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana and driving while suspended.

Warsaw Police also served several drug warrants yesterday afternoon. In all, seven people were arrested for various drug related offenses:

  • Catherine Curtis, 68, Warsaw, charged with dealing or manufacturing a Schedule I controlled substance.
  • Zachary Kerr, 25,Silver Lake, charged with dealing or manufacturing a Schedule V controlled substance.
  • Michael Nelson, 26, Silver Lake, charged with dealing or manufacturing a Schedule I or II narcotic drug and theft.
  • Mark Ogle, 29, Warsaw, charged with possession of marijuana.
  • Arthur Phagan, 64, Warsaw, charged with possession of marijuana.
  • Weston Souther, 40, Warsaw, charged with possession of a Schedule I or II narcotic drug.
  • Daniel Trump, 35, Warsaw, charged with possession of a counterfeit substance with intent to deal.
