The Whitko girls soccer team lost a 2-0 final at Blackford Saturday.

The hosts tallied a pair of goals in the opening half to run their season record to 11-2.

Allie Jennerjahn and Victoria Eppard each had a score for the winners.

Whitko drops to 5-5-4 on the season.

The Wildcats play at Columbia City Wednesday.

Miller Leads Cross Country Team

Derek Miller led the Whitko boys’ cross country team to an 11th place finish Saturday in the New Haven Classic.

Miller placed 26th overall in the race in a time of 18:14.

The Wildcats posted a team score of 286 in the Classic.

Josh Wright was 28th in a time of 18:26 for Whitko, followed by teammates Lane Wolf in 59th (19:27), Nicolas Crosson in 100th (20:58) and Cole Eberly in 108th (21:10).

Nemitz Paces Whitko Ladies

Brigit Nemitz had a strong performance Saturday to lead the Whitko girls’ cross country team in the New Haven Classic.

Nemitz placed eighth overall in the field in a time of 20:34.

Whitko finished in 12th place in the team standings with a score of 172.

Michelle Kelsey was 13th in the girls’ race for Whitko with a time of 22:00. Courtney Edwards was 43rd in 23:22 and Abby Smith was 86th in 26:25.
