A 14-year-old boy was airlifted from the Kosciusko County Community Fairgrounds at about 1 p.m. today after he suffered head injuries in a skateboarding accident.

The teenager was skateboarding behind Lakeview Middle School when he reportedly fell down stairs and struck his head several times. The boy allegedly lost consciousness for a time and when he became alert, he was not able to move.

Samaritan II flew to the fairgrounds where the flight crew transported him to Fort Wayne.

Assisting at the scene were Warsaw-Wayne Township Fire Territory, Multi-Township EMS and Warsaw Police.
