William Russell “Russ” Ogden, 88, of Winona Lake, Ind., passed away at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at Grace Village Health Care of Winona Lake.
He served the Lord through the Grace Brethren Church for 50 years. He served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot during World War II, and was a resident of Kosciusko County, Ind., for the past four months.
He was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Centerville, Iowa, to William A. Ogden and Frances E. (Coffman) Ogden. On Aug. 20, 1948, at Highland Park, Ill., he was married to Elizabeth “Betty” Ruth Ralph, who survives in Winona Lake.
He is survived by his two sons: James R. Ogden, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; David E. (Christine) Ogden, Sebring, Fla.; two daughters: Joan (Daniel) Snively, Fishers, Ind.; Carol Mills, Indianapolis, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Don (Ethelee) Ogden, Winona Lake; Dick (Betty) Ogden, Warren, Ohio; and his sister: Jeane Vanaman, Clarkston, Mich.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, at Winona Lake Grace Brethren Church, 1200 Kings Hwy., Winona Lake. A service will follow at 3 p.m. in the church and be officiated by Pastor Jesse Deloe. Entombment will be at St. Matthew Mausoleum of Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Indianapolis.
