Ellyana Blue powered the Whitko girls soccer team to a victory at North Miami Saturday.
Blue booted home a pair of goals as the Wildcats edged past the hosts 2-1.
Heather Bryan collected an assist on the first Blue goal for the Wildcats.
Whitko keeper Jordan Hall had six saves in the victory.
Whitko, which improves to 5-2-4 on the season, hosts Garrett Monday and entertains Eastbrook Wednesday in South Whitley.
Boys’ Soccer Squad Wins
Whitko edged past host North Miami 3-2 Saturday in prep boys’ soccer action.
The trio of Devin Goggin, Luckson Stieglitz and Cole Findley each had a goal for the winning Wildcats.
Keeper Jacob Helton recorded the win in goal for Whitko.
Tennis Team Takes Sixth
The Whitko boys’ tennis team team recorded a sixth-place finish Saturday in the Knox Invitational.
The Wildcats scored 16 points in the eight-team event.
Tyler Baugher led Whitko with a third place finish at No. 1 singles.
Blake Castle placed fourth at No. 2 singles and Cole Bechtold was fifth at No. 3 for the Wildcats.
The No. 1 doubles team of Reed Brace and Bailey Platt placed sixth as did the No. 2 doubles duo of Alex Bechtold and Alec Robbins.
