2234583Bruce Rogers Jr., 83, of Milford, Ind., passed away Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at his residence.

He was born on July 31, 1929, in Elkhart County, Ind., to Bruce Sr. and Mary (Fox) Rogers. He married Maxine Pease on July 31, 1950.

Bruce worked for several years in the mobile home industry and CTB Inc. before opening Rogers Sanitation where he worked until his retirement. He was an avid train memorabilia collector and enjoyed going to farm and steam engine shows. He enjoyed working outside in the garage tinkering on things and could be found at the local coffee shop setting with the guys sharing stories.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years; a son: Tim (Cindy) Rogers, Warsaw, Ind.; three daughters: Sharon (Dennis) Heminger, Elkhart, Ind.; Doris Rogers, Elkhart; Sue (Doug) Johnson, Milford, Ind.; 18 grandchildren; 24 great-grand children; two brothers: Charles (Delores) Rogers, Sebring, Fla.; Loyal (Dorothy) Rogers, New Paris, Ind.; two sisters: Mary Matthews, New Paris; and Marjorie Kirkdoffer, Elkhart.

Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, two children: Bruce and Dale Rogers; and a sister: Dorothy Watkins.

Visitation will be held from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home with Pastor Jesse Beer officiating.

Memorial contributions may be given to the charity of donor’s choice.
