WINONA LAKE, IN – Representatives of the town of Winona Lake and supporters of the Winona Lake Limitless Park recently accepted grants from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation’s Community Fund and the Kosciusko REMC Operation Round Up Fund. The grants were made in support of the construction of Winona Lake Limitless Park.

Winona Lake Limitless Park will offer outdoor recreation for people of all abilities including a universally accessible splash pad, playground, year-round changing facilities, additional parking and shaded rest areas located at the same site as the current public park and playground in Winona Lake. The closest public park similar to the proposed Limitless Park is 45 miles away at Kreager Park in Fort Wayne.

“I won’t be bored at the playground anymore,” said Mason Metzger, age 14, when talking about the coming soon park. Mason, who is from Warsaw, has cerebral palsy. A fully accessible recreation area will mean that Mason and other children and adults like him will be able to enjoy all of the park’s offerings.

The $1.5 million park project is driven by community volunteers and being funded through private donations and grants. Donations to the project can be made to the Winona Lake Parks Department, care of Winona Lake Limitless Park, P.O. Box 338, Winona Lake, IN 46590. For more information about the project, contact Winona Lake Parks Director, Holly Hummitch, at [email protected] or 574-267-2310.
