It is no secret that women in management face obstacles in their career advancement and professional recognition. To help address these and other issues a group of 15 professional women from various organizations have joined efforts to establish a non-profit organization designed to serve professional women in the Northern Indiana region.These women, who come from large area corporations, start-up entrepreneurial businesses, government and non-profit foundations, have been working for several months to launch an association which serves to further the advancement and impact of women in their careers. The result is W.I.S.E. (We Inspire, Support, Empower) Inc. which will be officially unveiled in September.

“Our vision is to be recognized as the leading organization in Northern Indiana that supports professional women’s career growth,” states Tammy Allen, director of marketing for OrthoWorx and president of W.I.S.E. Inc. “Through W.I.S.E. events and programs, we will provide educational opportunities for women to grow in their careers, develop leadership skills, and build their professional networks.”

On Sept. 19, W.I.S.E. will hold an inaugural event open to anyone interested in learning more about the organization and what it offers – including future events, workshops and a one-of-a-kind regional mentoring program. The evening will also include a featured speaker, Karen Gregerson, CFO for STAR Bank, who will be share how connecting with other women has positively impacted her professional and personal development.
