Emergency personnel responded to a car accident at 2228 Market St., Warsaw, that caused a vehicle to crash into a home.

The accident, which occurred at about 2:09 p.m., involved two vehicles. The driver of the Rendezvous, which collided with the house, was trapped in the wreckage and had to be freed by Warsaw Fire personnel. Peggy E. Ditmer, 84, of Winona Lake, was sustained chest injuries and was flown to Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne.

Witnesses on scene said the driver of a white passenger car, now identified as Talisha E. Bambrough, 20, of Utah, was southbound on South McKinley Street and failed to stop at the stop sign and pulled into the path of Ditmer’s westbound vehicle. Bambrough’s car was struck on the driver’s side, which caused the car to spin around and pushed it approximately 25 feet west where it came to rest between a van that was parked at the residence and the house at 2228 Market St. Ditmer’s vehicle struck the corner of the house, owned by Stephen Park.

Bambrough was treated by Multi-Township EMS and transported to Kosciusko Community Hospital for treatment. Her passenger, Meridien Handy, 19, of San Marcos, Calif., complained of head and neck pain.
