Tippecanoe Valley and Triton both came out on the short end of home football contests Friday night.

The Vikings suffered a 22-7 loss in Akron at the hands of Bremen.

Valley fell behind 19-0 to the Lions and never could recover. Jon Stoller rushed for 158 yards for Bremen, which scored on three short touchdown runs in the win.

The Vikings lone score came on a nine-yard touchdown run by quarterback Ben Shriver.

Valley also suffered a trio of potential key injuries in the game, which was delayed by lightning in the second half. Shriver, a three-year starter at quarterback, left with a knee injury. All-State senior wide receiver Tanner Andrews left the game with a groin injury and offensive lineman Austin French was sidelined with a concussion.

Valley, now 0-2 on the season, opens Three Rivers Conference play next Friday night at Manchester. Bremen evens its season mark at 1-1.

Triton, looking for a 2-0 start under new coach John Johns, fell 27-6 to Northfield in Bourbon.

The Trojans scored on a 67-yard run by Joey Farmwald. Farmwald rushed for 108 yards on 19 carries to lead the Triton offense.

Northfield, now 1-1, rushed for 287 yards and won despite losing four fumbles. Triton had three passes intercepted in the contest.

Grant Stichter rushed for 50 yards and Cole Creighbaum had 48 for Triton.

The Trojans (1-1) open Northern State Conference play at Culver next Friday.
