Soccer Teams Drop Two

The Whitko soccer teams each lost home contests Thursday.

The Wildcats dropped a 2-0 final to Columbia City in boys’ action.

The Whitko girls’ team lost a 7-3 final to Central Noble.

Cross Country Teams Lose At Rochester

The Whitko girls and boys cross country teams each lost at Rochester Thursday.

Rochester won the girls’ meet by an 18-43 final.

Brigit Nemitz placed third overall to lead Whitko in a time of 21:38. Michelle Kelsey was seventh for the Wildcats in 23:39, with Brianna Cumberland 11th (26:00), Courtney Edwards 12th (26:12), Abby Smith 13th (28:45) and Samantha Shambarger-Deneve 15th (35:52).

The host Zebras won the boys’ competition 17-46.

Derek Miller led the way for Whitko with a fifth-place finish overall in a time of 19:01. Josh Wright placed 11th in a time of 20:07 for the Wildcats, followed by Lane Wolf in 12th (20:37), Brady Myers in 13th (21:05), Nick Crossons in 16th (22:51) and Cole Eberly in 17th (23:31).
