Velvet Jones will perform a free outdoor concert from 11:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 2, in downtown South Bend. The Fridays by the Fountain concert will be at the Jon R. Hunt Plaza, located in front of the Morris Performing Arts Center, 211 N. Michigan St.

Velvet Jones is a high energy, rock n’ roll band that plays a vast mix of music rooted in classic and modern alternative rock.

Lunch will be available to purchase from Morris Bistro Restaurant, Papa John’s Pizza and Skinny’s Hotdogs. People may bring a brown bag lunch, a chair or blanket and relax on the lawn.
