A Winona Lake man sustained head injuries in a two-car accident Friday in Warsaw.

Richard H. Anderson, 77, was airlifted from the scene after his vehicle was hit when he pulled into the path of a northbound vehicle, driven by Logan N. Britton, 17, of Mentone.

The accident happened at 3:50 p.m. Friday at Kincaide Street and Fisher Avenue (SR 15) in front of Red Horse Outdoor Living Center, Warsaw.

According to police, Anderson was westbound on Kincaide and tried to cross Fisher Avenue. Witnesses told police there was not enough time or space for Britton to avoid the accident.

Anderson had to be extricated from his vehicle by fire fighters of the Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory. Samaritan Air Ambulance then landed at Warsaw Community High School to transport Anderson to Parkview Regional Medical Center’s trauma center.

A blood draw on Anderson was completed and the results are pending.
